Rhythm Guitars Are Done!

Whew! My arms are tired, but we managed to finish rhythm guitars for all the songs! Bass is up next, then vocals, Twinkly leads, and we’re there! So stoked to be getting this record done.

We started apollo:sent way back in 2005. We played a handful of shows here and there, had written maybe 8 songs back then and as we were going through a shift, we called it quits. The “shift” wasn’t anything bad by the way, started with a change in musical direction, then Kevin moved away, then Phillip, and we just kinda called it.

Fast forward to 2015 (that’s right, 10 YEARS AGO) and my then girlfriend (now wife ❤️) and I got invited to Phillip and Kaylee’s wedding. My wife asked me about mine and Phillip’s friendship, I told her about apollo:sent and then for Xmas she made me some band shirts, a website (which I wish I had kept up on because it was really good), and painted me a beautiful piece of art of the soundbars for one of our first songs. That inspired me to resuscitate this project, and I started writing. I think the first one I wrote for this album is Afraid of Nothing. Anyway, long journey and reconnections, and here we are about to release our first full length!

Why this is important for me, for us all I think, is this was the first band where we all came into our own with music. It’s where I found my voice, both in my lyrics and in how I play guitar. It was a place of musical growth and fun, we jammed, we hung out, we became best friends basically in my early college years. This band has meant so much to me for such a long time, and we’re all so excited to get this record out there.

For anyone that’s been following along (the very few of you I’m sure haha), thank you. We can’t wait for you to hear all this.
